Wat Chai Wattanaram |
It was combined with the Burmese temples where was built in 1630 by the King Pra Sart Thong. Before destroyed by Burmese, it used to be the merit place of the king in that period. Moreover, it consists of 8 pagodas around the main stupa where was decorated with painting on the ceiling and walls of each one. Although it was fired to be ruins, it was renovated completely by the Fine Arts Department that invites you to visit here. |

According to Ayuthaya’s history, Protugal was the first country where contacted with Ayuthaya and lived in there for long time. The first ambassador who came here decided to build a church for propagate Christian religious and to become the center of the Protuguese community. If you visit here, you will see the multi-culture between Ayuthaya and Protugal from the ruins of the village, including with the Protuguese graveyard. Japan is one of the countries that traded with Ayuthaya, and Japanese people and Japanese trader had their community. You will see the Japanese style houses and buildings where was renovated from Thai-Japanese Association to display the history of Japanese village in Ayuthaya period.
